You should descale the heating plate of the Steriliser at least once a week to prevent overheating,
malfunction or product failure. If you live in a hard water area you may need to do this more often.
- Mineral residue, particularly in hard water areas, may deposit on the heating plate after the sterilisation cycle. To avoid scale build up, wipe the surfaces with a soft moist cloth after each operation.
- Mineral deposits can be removed with descaling solution or by leaving 60ml/2oz white vinegar on the heating plate for approximately 30 minutes.
- The plate should then be rinsed and wiped with a clean, dry cloth.
- Some harmless discoloration spots may remain after cleaning but they have no effect on performance.
- You can descale more frequently if necessary.
You can check the water hardness in your area at https://www.aquacure.co.uk/knowledge-base/uk-hard-water-map/
If the heating plate has a build up of scale this will mean that the machine will not work correctly and will take more time to heat the water.
You can see the difference between a dirty and clean heating plate, its important that the heating plate is kept clean at all times.
