Common CrFAQs

IT IS IMPORTANT TO NEVER ADD ESSENTIAL OILS, MEDICINE VAPOURS OR ADDITIVES IN THE WATER THAT RUNS THROUGH THE UNIT AS THESE SUBSTANCES COULD CAUSE CRACKS TO THE UNIT'S WATER TANK

PROBLEM: A flashing red light appears over the word “med” and no mist is produced

Cause: The water level sensor float has not been placed in the base of the unit

Suggested resolution:

Make sure the unit is set up properly with the water level sensor placed right side up in the base of the unit.

1) Unplug your base and set your water tank to the side.

2) Empty the base of the unit of any water that may be in there.

3) Take just the empty base and plug it in wherever you want the item to be running in your home.

4) Thoroughly rinse off the water level sensor float. This is the blue piece that has the words “place in base this side up” printed on it. Place this float into the base so that the narrow end of the float is resting on the post with the notch taken out of the top.

5) Fill your water tank and place it onto your empty base.

6) Press the power button and tell me if you get a red or green light. Is the light solid or flashing?

PROBLEM: A solid red light appears over the word “med” and no mist is produced

Cause: There is most likely build up on the bottom of the blue water level sensor float

Suggested resolution:

Remove the blue water level sensor float from the base of your unit. Dip/wet a cloth in distilled white vinegar and thoroughly wipe down the entire water level sensor float. Make sure to (focus on the small magnet on the bottom of unit) clean the bottom of this piece thoroughly. Rinse off the float with water and place the float back in the base on the post of the unit and return your water tank to the base.

Press the power button and tell me if you get a red or green light. Is the light solid or flashing?

PROBLEM: The mist output of the unit is drastically decreased.

Cause: The unit may need to be cleaned. If there is build up on the nebulizer in the base of the unit, this prevents it from vibrating at the frequency in which it needs to create mist.

Suggested resolution:

To resolve this issue, the nebulizer should be cleaned via the following steps:

3 Tablespoons of Vinegar and 1 ½ cups of warm water in the base

Rub the nebulizer with a cotton swab (circular item in the centre of the base)

Let sit for 20-30 minutes

Use a toothbrush to scrub any residual mineral build up in the base, if applies

PROBLEM: The unit will not power on at all.

Cause: The unit is most likely plugged into a power strip or extension cord that is not supplying enough power to the unit.

Suggested resolution:

Is the unit plugged directly into a wall outlet, or is it plugged into a power strip or extension cord? For the purposes of troubleshooting have you tried multiple outlets in the home? Often plugging your Crane unit directly into a wall outlet will be enough to resolve this issue. Make sure you are using the correct power cord that came with the unit.
